Type-Ins not just for Typospherians anymore!

This article in the Beaver County PA Times announces a Type-In at Cafe Kolache on Feb 23rd, and as far as I can tell, the promoter, a Beaver County author and typewriter collector Valentine J. Brkich, is not a Typospherian. (although he should be)

This could be the first “Type-In” held by a non-Typospherian, and may mark the beginning of the viral spread of Mike McGettigan’s brainchild event into the world in general. In any case, I’m’a gonna claim it on the list of Type-Ins I keep here.

  1. Cool!

I found their Facebook event page:

I wasn’t aware of your list of type-ins — very useful for my book. :)

    1. someone who has a facebook account (like not me) should let them know their type-in has been added to the type-in page. maybe we can snag us some more Typospherians :D

      1. I found his e-mail address and sent him a note, but haven’t heard back.

  2. It is great that more people are getting involved in typing and typewriters. Sounds as though he has quite a collection of typewriters too. I wonder how many and what kind.

There is a tweet on his blog about the type-in too.

When I saw the name of the place for the type-in before reading the article I thought it may be in Eastern PA. Funny how both ends of PA are so very similar.

  3. Thank you for adding my type-in to your page! Never knew about the typosphere before, but I’m glad to be a part of it. ; )

    1. welcome to the Typosphere! Let us know how your event went, and send us links to reports, I’ll be happy to add them to the history section of type-in.org
