Ted, thanks for posting this (and thanks to the internet for the “long tail” that makes this post available six years later). I’ve been researching a question and failing miserably: Where does the SCM Classic 12 fit into the lineup offered through the sixties and seventies? I’ve got both Galaxies and Classic 12’s, and I’m hard-pressed to see the differences. Have you any insights on this? — thanks!
Probably very little difference other than trim, label and marketing. The Classic 12 was around by 1964, and continued into the mid 70’s at least. At some point it became the “Classic Twelve”, which was even less unlike the Galaxie 12.
