Mail Call: From the Kingdom of Canada and Reflections Reflected

So I sampled another 3 cassettes from the 4-Track box & used bits of these two shown below to make a fun 16-minute cut that might end up as part of an Episode, a section of a Tape Pals tape or even one side of a “30 Minutes on Microcassette“, who knows? I mix it, and it’ll eventually end up somewhere you can get it. It’s called “Reflections Reflected“. Ooh, fancy-schmancy Maxell Metal Type IV tape! This one’s the 4-Track master for about half of “So, You’re Skeptical?” from 1986. Nice, now I can mix those tracks without my awful vocals. :D Very cool-looking but poor quality No-Name Type 0 tape, on which I for some reason recorded the 4 different tracks with mixdowns of other tapes – music ideas and recorded interviews I had done even earlier in ’84/’85. I guess I was freeing up those other tapes for re-use because tapes were expensive, and this method allowed me to condense the contents of 4 60-minute tapes onto one. The result, when played back on a stereo tape deck, is two completely unconnected audio tracks being played at you, one in each ear. Flip the tape over and play the B-side, and you get two other different audio tracks played at you in each ear *backwards*. Yes, the tape in this cassette is on two tiny metal reels, just like a reel-to-reel deck. Groovy! (:
