Nice! It looks a lot cooler and sleeker than the AE-355 I had (since culled). Olivetti-CX-880 (Centronics port) and the Olivetti CX-440 were advertised as “New-for ’86” in California on the 24 Sep 1986
I’ve come across many other ads in the USA for the CX-880 in 1986 and 1987.
But so far I’ve only come across one dealer ad for the CX-900 X (and a CX-400) and that was in Canada on the 21st May 1988 – I also came across a second-hand ad for the CX-900 in the USA and described as “almost new” on the 30th October 1989.
So 1988 is probably a best guess.

I’m glad you got the Olivetti working. It’s fun watching it print in full auto mode. And your kitty looks like it just woke up!
