The Linux Chronicles #2: Mah Conky!

Mmm, Conkies. One of the delightful things about X11 is the ability to run an active system resource monitor on your desktop, and theme it pretty much any way you want. I themed mine in TWDB livery. I haven’t had this much fun customizing my wallpaper since the days of the fatally flawed, but oh-so-fun Active Desktop. Like pretty much everything in Linux, configuration is done mainly by editing a text file using a pretty simple and easily understood markup language. There are GUI configuration tools, but they don’t really offer the detail manipulations that you can do by straight-up editing the code. Fun, fun fun! :D

It has now been 5 days since I’ve booted up Windows… I wonder if there’s some kind of 12-Step coin I can get at 30 days.. (:

  1. Fun things can be done in Linux but never in Windows anything.
I pity people that are stuck on or with any Windows OS or any Microsoft software.
