Nice gift! These guys are homely—they look like a Nixon caricature—but they’re essentially fine typewriters, descendants of the 17 and KMC. Not that I’m telling you anything you don’t know. Enjoy.
I put another page through it this morning, and not a single skip. I guess the escapement just needed a little workout to knock out the stiffness of disuse. (:
One thing Remington did right on the spool tops was to create little indents for hand winding the ribbons. Not a big deal, but may be missing the strange little KR key. Nice acquisitions!

Congratulations on the Super-Riter. I think I repaired the skip on my old Royal Companion by adjusting the tabs on the universal bar.
