Is there any chance that it’s meant to take a slightly wider ribbon?
hmmn, doesn’t look like it. when I say “thin”, i mean the fabric in the new ribbon is slightly lighter/thinner than the old dried-up stiff ribbon. The Rocket’s vibrator seems to like to toss it in coils around the edge of the character ruler and its own elbow joint in the “red” position. In black it barely moves at all.
Well Bill at Mesa Typewriter Exchange fixed the ribbon yesterday, it just wasn’t threaded properly so now it doesn’t cut off the tops of the letters. Now the only problem is the leaning lines and he’s working on that. So I’ll have my whale back soon and I can make a post on it!
