A couple fun cassette J-Cards from the Tape Box of Ghosts – first band I was in really right smack in the middle of the punk/new wave 80’s and mostly played bass. I was the kid who bought the pastor’s old Sony Hi-Fi reel-to-reel deck, so I was the one that recorded all the practices & shows – and this was undoubtedly the beginning of my fascination with recording my environment – a practice I still enjoy greatly. I still have a big box of those reel-to-reel tapes, but nothing to play them on. Fortunately, I used the reel tapes as masters to make cassette copies, maybe a handful of each one with hand-drawn and colored J-Cards. Of interest with this next one is the typeface of the typewritten text. I recognize that as Underwood Stymie Pica, only found on Underwood and Olivetti machines. I don’t recall our family owning either brand, just a Galaxie Deluxe and a Brother AX-10. I suppose it’s possible I had found a typewriter then, and subsequently lost it and forgot about it, I never know given the state of my memory that far back. Weird the things you notice when you have weirdly focused hobbies. :D Oh boy, did I love to play with the opposite ends of the Color Helm, eh?
Man, even back then you were great with graphic design!
