Weapon of Choice: 1941 Royal Companion #CD-226351 Whoops, the Margin Release linkage came out of the hole in the Center Stop paddle. Easy fix, though – turn the machine over, pull the paddle forward and re-insert the linkage. Royal’s ad in the 1940 National Typewriter and Office Machine Dealers Association “Souvenir Program”. The NT&OMDA dropped the “Typewriter” from its name to become NOMDA after WWII, and the 1940 convention is where all the US manufacturers introduced their brand-new 1940 models – and they really went all-out to promote the new designs. It looks like 1940 was the year that Royal introduced the “Royal Portable Clock” for dealers to purchase as well. Have you got one of them snazzy Royal Clocks?

1920s, 30s,and 50s Royals rock my collection. All that’s missing is a 1940s. I’m patiently waiting for a Moneypenny twin to show up locally.
