Yes – I can *imagine* how nice this machine would be if I dropped a dime on it, but I want to *feel* and *hear* what it will be like, before I spend ten times what the thing initially cost. :D
I’m waiting on a refreshed platen from JJ Short to arrive for my Mercury. All this based on JVC’s info on the subject and the fact that the Merc is just so solid and dependable and can hang when things get fast. Appreciate you guys and all the great info you put out there!
If this were my only machine, it’d be a no-brainer. A new platen would make this a perfect “only” machine, and I’d drop for that. Problem is, I have so many JP1’s that I like just as well or better, and they don’t need extra investment. It’s a pure luxury, and I must be careful about lusting after luxury. :D
