  1. Does wire side mean that the lettering of the watermark is oriented is the normal reading sense?

    1. “wire side” is the harder finish side of the sheet, and is intended to be the side you write on. The opposite side is the “felt” side. The watermark will always be impressed so that it is properly readable from the wire side, so then you just need to make sure it’s not upside down. (:

      1. Actually, I just looked this up and realized that I’m remembering it backwards. watermark is read correctly and content is printed on, the *felt* side. Just reverse everything I said above. :D
