I didn’t know that Smith-Corona had a special name for these tan, Samsonite-like typewriter cases, which I normally see 5TE Electrics in. Sometimes you find manual Super-5’s in ’em, though, and this one at MTE still had it’s key and instruction booklet attached.
Wow … I didn’t know you could remove the frame from the Holiday case. It’s really a good design.

Red Selectrics sell for more on ebay for some reason. I guess it’s because they didn’t make that many and red just makes a statement compared to the bland colors most were made in. I’ve been thinking about changing the colors on a couple I have to see if they would sell better.
Probably would. Selectrics look a lot better with some other color than Beige on them, and you know how easy they are to strip for painting. It’s an easy spruce-up job that makes a world of difference in how saleable they are. (:

I do say I gained some respect for Johnny Depp’s acting chops for his performance as Hunter S. whilst one-armed toting around a Selectric II and a glass of Wild Turkey. That suckah is *heavy* and Johnny is not a large fellow.
