Interesting, the film scanner will even scan those funky disc camera films!
An un-used shot from the photoshoot for the cover artwork of NLM’s “Monstor” album (1989), featuring Reverend Dave Camp. I’ve heard news of Rev. Camp recently, hoping to hear he’s doing well.
Our laundry darkroom. What kind of funkiness was I doing with the enlarger? see final photo of this post.
My TRS-80 Model 4p back when it was my primary computer. I still have this artifact, and it still works.
I wish I still had this. Lord knows how I’m gonna play back this crate full of reel-to-reel tapes of stuff I’ve done.
My old Gibson Explorer
The Telecaster Deluxe
Me as a young printer. Still have that press.
Experiments in the darkroom
This is a cool discovery … love the “experiments in the darkroom.”
I was also gonna say- love the “experiments in the darkroom.”
heh, pre-photoshop photoshoppery. bending and crumpling your print paper before printing on it to distort the resulting print. I guess I never finished this one, since it was still in with the source negs and other “to be cut” prints. I suspect the intent was to paste in more pics along the border, and use it for flyer artwork, which I could probably do digitally now.
Very cool! I kinda wish I’d met you sooner!
Ahh, ’89. Life seemed so simple and carefree back then. Nice photos, Ted.
Once you know your way around a printing press like that, typewriters must be a breeze!
In 1989, I only had two typewriters. So many typewriters ago. Did you get that spooky haunted feeling seeing some of these come out of the scanner? I have found it a bit rattling just looking back to my earliest digital archive from around 1999, let alone exhuming negs. It really does seem like another country until you sit and join the dots between then and now.
Very much so. Most of these negs never got beyond the contact sheet stage, so I have no clear memory of them until I see them on the screen again. Then they pop into clear relief, each frame a key that unlocks a door in my memory.
Love that picture of your old desk. And the fish-eye Reverend Dave also is amazing!
