The only problem with collecting thrift store camera lenses is that you can only keep so many of them in your kit. That’s fine – you really only need a couple of lenses most of the time, but what do you do with the rest? I was lucky enough to score the big gold metal lens case early on, so I had a nice box to safely store 5 or 6 lenses, but that left half a dozen sitting around on shelves and desks. Easy to lose smallish things like lenses that way.
So I went thriftin’ today for a solution. I kind of expected to find a laptop case of some sort with enough of the baffling intact to section off a padded lens storage area inside. Maybe two laptop cases, ‘cuz ya know, I’m pushing over a dozen lenses. What I found was this:
That’s awesome, congrats!
I misjudged the size of the backpack – comparing it to other photography bags I have seen – until I saw the Brother typewriter in the front pocket. Wow! That is quite a find, and must have been a great value, too!
pretty slick – you definitely have good thrift stores there.
Looks like you have a “photo equipment bone”!
Nice score, Ted! Definitely worth looking after those lenses since, while they might be relatively cheap to obtain, they’re a dog to find in the first place.
So there is justice in the world! Neat!
Right place, right time. Well done! I have a LowePro or two as well – sturdy bags. Oh no, I feel a bag review coming on…must…have…beer…
That is one fantastic find! Congratulations!
I’ve several LowePro bags; no backpack. They make excellect products.
Oh, nice! That’s an awesome setup. I like that typewriter in a pouch business.
