  1. Congratulations on the GPS. I’d love to have one of those old tanker desks, especially a green one. How much to mail it from Arizona to Florida? Ha! Just kidding. I could buy a brand new Steelcase for the cost of the freight!

    1. I think you could buy a brace of fully-restored Steelcase tankers for the cost of shipping from AZ to FL. :D

  2. That’s a real score! Especially the map updates! I need to replace my desk, the particle board is failing. I wish I could have a tanker but would also like one with the hidden place for a standard typewriter, used in railroads, i think.

  3. Too bad you missed the suit. I suspect you’ll get more use from the Nuvi, though :)

    1. Yeah, I consider it to be a satisfactory consolation prize :D

  4. Wow, that’s an amazing find! It’ll learn me to never walk by something in a thrift store without checking the insides.

    1. The Goodwill thrift store chain here in the States uses a marketing buzz-phrase in their advertising that goes: “You never know what you’ll find.” These are wise words to live by. :D

I’m not totally a compulsive drawer-puller, but I tend to do that on furniture that catches my eye – kind of a friendly “getting to know you” ritual that might lead to “will you come home with me?” Sort of like speed-dating, but for inanimate objects.
