New TWDB “Mechanic’s Club” Patreon Tier!

Ooh, look! Patreon and Sellfy have set up an API that allows us to offer discounts at the TWDB Sellfy Store (https://sellfy.com/twdb) to TWDB Tier-level Patrons through some arcane technomagic. We’ve set up our first Patreon Tier and we waved the magic wand over it that theoretically should have set up the method by which you can get a 50% discount on whatever PDF Typewriter Repair Manuals you get from the TWDB Sellfy store while you are a member of the Tier. At least that’s how I think it works. I can’t really test it, so hopefully someone already at the $2+ level will join the “Mechanic’s Club Tier” and let me know if it’s working correctly. :D

Sellfy suggested I send users to this link to figure out how to add themselves to the Tier, which you need to do yourself, as Sellfy doesn’t let me auto-add existing users who meet the Patreon level:

To claim Tier benefits in the TWDB Sellfy store, patrons need to authorize with their Patreon account. They will instantly see the discounted products available to them exclusively.

  1. It works. I didn’t realize that you could adjust the dollar amount of the Mechanics Club Tier above $2/month, so I hit “custom pledge”. That didn’t work with the TWDB Sellfy discount. I edited my Patreon membership, joined the Mechanics Club, adjusted the the dollar amount above $2/month, and saw my discounted Sellfy items.

    1. Excellent! Thanks for the mini-howto :D

  2. It doesn’t work for me. Sellfy prompts me to log in to Patreon; I do so, and Sellfy still thinks I’m not logged in.

    1. Ok, you’re the second person this happened to. I know you use Safari, can you try a different browser? I’m wondering if your browser is blocking whatever underlying cookie integration that Patreon and Sellfy needs to work together. It has happened rarely enough that I suspect it can be chalked up to some browser issue.
