Nice! It looks a lot cooler and sleeker than the AE-355 I had (since culled). Olivetti-CX-880 (Centronics port) and the Olivetti CX-440 were advertised as “New-for ’86” in California on the 24 Sep 1986
I’ve come across many other ads in the USA for the CX-880 in 1986 and 1987.
But so far I’ve only come across one dealer ad for the CX-900 X (and a CX-400) and that was in Canada on the 21st May 1988 – I also came across a second-hand ad for the CX-900 in the USA and described as “almost new” on the 30th October 1989.
So 1988 is probably a best guess.
It was great seeing you and Bill again.
I’m glad you got the Olivetti working. It’s fun watching it print in full auto mode. And your kitty looks like it just woke up!
Sure is a lot of scanning to do.
Nice looking Ideal.
Nice! Great that you are able to put the 900X to good use. It’s a little unsettling to watch these type left to right and then right to left.
